What Pope Francis said about the Middle East conflict
Saying that he was “saddened” by the news coming out of Lebanon, Pope Francis called on the international community to make every effort “to stop this terrible escalation”.
The Holy Father also appealed for us to pray for Lebanon, saying the country “is, and must remain, a project of peace. With you, I implore from heaven that peace which people struggle to build on earth. I beg it for the Middle East, and for Lebanon.”
