Join TeamCAFOD today with your own place in a run, walk, swim, cycle, trek or any other challenge event. Your fundraising will be vital in helping communities around the world as they overcome poverty.

Take on an active challenge

Getting active for CAFOD couldn't be easier!

For balloted running events, such as the London Marathon or Great North Run, you can apply for a CAFOD charity place. Check out our Run for CAFOD page for more information.

You can also find your own challenge event, either by purchasing your own place or asking CAFOD to secure your place, following these simple steps:

  1. Choose the challenge event you'd like to take part in. You can browse these on sites like Sport for Charity or just by searching the internet.

  2. Contact us or the event organiser to sign up and secure your place.

  3. If you've purchased your own place, let us know so we can support you every step of the way.

By buying your own place in an event, you'll save CAFOD this upfront cost and we can ensure all of your sponsorship goes towards our essential work overseas. We won't set you a sponsorship target but will support you in raising as much as you can.

If you'd prefer for CAFOD to buy your place, and save you this cost, we are more than happy to do so. We will set you a sponsorship target and support you to smash your goal.

Want to take part in a cycling event not listed here? You can sign up for any cycling event you choose, and still fundraise for CAFOD.

Or, you can organise your own cycle! Simply pick your route, ask your friends and family for sponsorship and get in the saddle. Don't forget to let us know what you have planned so we can help to reach the finish line.

Ready to take the plunge for CAFOD? Or perhaps you're up for pushing yourself in an obstacle course. There's so many ways you can get active for CAFOD.

You may be a keen open-water swimmer, ready to take on the Great North Swim or Swim Serpentine. Or, maybe you fancy getting muddy at Tough Mudder. You could even set your own fitness challenge! From press-up, planking and squat challenges, to practicing yoga each day for a month, create the challenge that's right for you.

Whatever you choose, your fundraising will support communities around the world overcome poverty.
