Mark and Peter at the London Marathon 2026
On 26 April, 34 CAFOD runners lined up for the London Marathon. They had already raised £120,000 for communities around the world and they were ready to take on the challenge.
It was an incredible day, with great weather really enhancing the atmosphere. We had our usual great spot to cheer our runners and we managed to cheer most of the team as well as giving a few high fives and sweaty hugs!
Maria had a great time running, passing Daddy Pig and Joe Wicks and at one point getting a selfie with Mo Farah.

Angelo and Gerard were two runners from the same parish, supported by Fr Paul Leonard, who is a CAFOD London Marathon runner from a few years ago.

Matthieu trained in Spain, where he is a student.
He said, "It feels special to have run my first marathon in my hometown while raising money for such an important cause."

Nik had a whole army of supporters at the cheer point, but she commented that the cheer she got when she reached the after-race reception was one of the most special moments of the whole experience.

Alice, a teacher, says, "CAFOD's work goes directly towards helping people access essential resources and empowering communities to build a better future. Running felt like a way I could be part of that."
