On Wednesday 24 June, two catastrophic earthquakes struck near Caracas in Venezuela within seconds of each other. Buildings collapsed in minutes, leaving widespread destruction across the country.
Thousands of people have been killed, and the death toll continues to rise. Many more people are still missing. Hospitals are under extreme pressure as they treat large numbers of injured people, while millions have been affected by the disaster .
Thanks to our supporters, we have allocated £100,000 to our trusted Church partners in Venezuela to help provide emergency water, food and hygiene kits to people affected by the earthquakes.
Our hearts are with the deceased, we pray for their eternal rest, and with those injured who are being rescued, as well as all the people who have lost loved ones.
